Whether you are interested in changing careers or starting
a new one, Meridian Technology Center's Career Services can
help you. Our professional guidance counselors provide career
counseling, assessment, information and referrals to meet
your educational needs. This service is provided at no charge
to you.
A Career Counselor can assist you in your
search for a new career direction. Through a variety of activities,
you can discover:
- the kind of work activities you enjoy or might enjoy.
- what you value in a career.
- details on various careers such as training, salaries,
and job outlook.
THE PROCESS
- Interview
By talking with you, a Career Counselor will
learn what you are looking for in a new career. You might
discuss your past work experience and what you think you
might want to do in the future. We will work together to
plan a course of action to assist you in finding a suitable
career.
- Assessment
A number of assessments are available to assist you in learning
more about
- your interest.
- your abilities.
- your personality.
- your values.
After visiting with you, we will decide which assessments,
if any, are appropriate for your situation.
- Career Information
We have many sources of information that can help you research
possible careers. You can learn the following about your
career options:
- Education required
- Job outlook
- Possible salary
- The nature of the work
We have access to Oklahoma Career Search and to the Internet.
We will assist you in using these resources to locate
the career information you need.
Meridian Technology Center Information
We have information on the various programs offered at Meridian
Technology Center. We can also provide you with job descriptions
for each of the career training programs at our school. We
can give you a tour of our facility or arrange for you to
meet with the instructor of the program of your choice.
We can also refer you to the appropriate person if you need
financial aid or other kinds of assistance.
Should our school not be the appropriate place for your situation,
we can refer you to other schools or programs.
