Michael S. Morgan Business Accelerator Building Dedication and Grand Opening Friday, May 15th

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Former Oklahoma Senator Honored with Namesake Building

Stillwater, Okla. – The Michael S. Morgan Business Accelerator Building at the Oklahoma Technology and Research Park will be dedicated on Friday at 9 a.m.

The park, located off of Highway 51 near Sangre Road in Stillwater, Okla., has completed the almost $5 million building and is ready to open it for tenants.

The dedication ceremony will feature former Senator Morgan, Oklahoma State University President Burns Hargis, and members of the OTRP Board. The open house-style dedication is open to the public.

The building’s purpose is to assist with economic development in Stillwater by providing accelerator services for growing businesses. The structure features over 25,000 square feet of space in the form of offices, buildable space and common space. 17,000 square feet are leasable and there are seven furnished offices available. The building can lease on a structured increasing fee schedule or a flat rate for five years to encourage tenants to grow and then move into the local economy.

The architecture firm of Frankfurt, Short and Bruza in Oklahoma City designed the building and Globe Construction Company handled the contract for construction.

The OTRP is a combined project of the City of Stillwater, Meridian Technology Center and OSU. Each of these organizations has members that make up the joint board for the park.

OTRP is an emerging knowledge center and high-value business destination for knowledge-based companies in Stillwater, Oklahoma—a small, vibrant city in north-central Oklahoma that is home to Oklahoma State University and Meridian Technology Center.

OTRP is designed to provide customized facilities for technology-based or knowledge-driven firms in all stages of development, whether seeking a single office, a laboratory, an entire floor of a building, or an entire building.

Joe Alexander, chairman, leads the OTRP Joint Board. Vice-Chairman Dan Galloway, Doug Major, Beth Buchanan, Stephen McKeever, Chuck Thomas and Larry Brown join Alexander on the board.
